The OklahombreS Journal over the years has had many fine articles on some of the lesser known lawmen that served in Indian and Oklahoma Territory. Many of these stories are amongst the only ones written about these brave law officers. Many of these men such as Floyd Wilson (featured in this well researched article by long time OklahombreS Member and former President Art Burton) were important figures in bringing law and order to this wild and untamed area. Tragically many of them including Wilson eventually gave their life in the line of duty. Wilson is shown to be a lawmen who should be remembered and honored for his service in this story.
